HOLIDAY CLOSURES

The museum, Setlan Coffee Co., and SoulFULL Eats will be closed in observance of the following holidays

  • November 28-29 // Thanksgiving
  • December 24-25 // Christmas
  • December 31 // New Year's Eve
  • January 1 // New Year's Day
  • July 4 // Independence Day

Additionally, museum offices will be closed on the following Monday observed holidays:

  • January 20 // Martin Luther King Day
  • May 26 // Memorial Day
  • September 1 // Labor Day

 

SETLAN COFFEE CO.

Enjoy delicious beverages and snacks from Setlan Coffee Co. Two of their top-sellers include the Fentiman's Float, espresso floated on top of sparkling rose lemonade, and the Bramble Latte with blackberry and lemon. Plus, enjoy fresh food and pastries made in partnership with other local vendors.

Museum Nights @ MOCA now feature free admission thanks to the generous support of Florida Blue! Every first and third Wednesday, enjoy extended hours from 5-9 p.m., the MOCA Bar, and free activities.

BLUE STAR FREE MILITARY & FIRST RESPONDER ACCESS PRESENTED BY CSX

MOCA provides free admission to the families of active duty and former military and first responders from Armed Forces Day weekend through Labor Day weekend as part of the Blue Star Museums program, with the generous support of CSX. To take advantage of this program, please bring valid military or first responder identification. Those who qualify are welcome to bring up to five family members.

Some special events or limited-time museum exhibitions may not be included in this program. 

 

LIBRARY CARD HOLDERS

Free admission to MOCA is available on the last Friday of each month with a Jacksonville Public Library Card. All JPL card holders – Including residents, educators, students, military, and those who hold active non-resident cards – are eligible for this benefit

 

COLLEGE STUDENTS

College students receive free admission Tuesday - Friday 1:30 - 5 p.m.

 


*Identification or documentation is required for MOCA Members (membership card), Seniors (proof of age 60 or older), Military (military ID), College Students (school ID), visitors on unemployment (paperwork), UNF employees, and Library Card Holders (JPL Library Card). 


 

VISITOR POLICIES

MOCA Jacksonville is a space for the discovery, learning, and sharing of ideas. We are committed to creating a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive environment for every visitor. We ask that you assist us in providing a safe and respectful experience to all. MOCA staff may refuse or revoke admission of any visitor whose conduct does not comply with the policies below.

 

RESPECT FOR OTHERS

Disorderly conduct and aggressive, abusive, or obscene language are not permitted.

 

DRESS CODE
While there is no formal dress code, visitors are required to wear a shirt and shoes to enter the museum. MOCA asks that guests dress appropriately out of respect for fellow visitors. 

 

NUDITY

Please be aware that as you explore the galleries, you may encounter depictions of the nude human form.

 

CONTACTLESS PAYMENT

All of our payment is contactless. Cash will not be accepted, but cards, apple pay, and other electronic forms of payment can be used. Transactions include admission, membership, merchandise, and purchases at the MOCA Bar when open during special events.

 

BAGS AND UMBRELLAS

MOCA Jacksonville requires visitors to check umbrellas and oversized items at the entrance. The museum reserves the right to refuse items and is not responsible for items left at the front desk. All bags are subject to staff inspection.

 

CAMERAS & PHOTOSHOOTS

Photography without flash for personal use is permitted unless otherwise noted on specific objects.

Photoshoots must be pre-arranged through mocaevents@unf.edu

Low-impact photoshoots, which occur during normal business hours and have no to low impact on visitors, have a fee of $300 (+7% venue sales tax). These photoshoots can include a single photographer, one to three participants, do not have exclusive access, and will not have extensive equipment (tripod, small bag). 

High-impact photoshoots, which occur outside of normal hours and include exclusive access to specific spaces, extensive equipment (multiple tripods, light stands, reflectors), more than one photographer, and more than three participants, have a fee based on the scope that will be outlined with our events team.

IMAGE RIGHTS 

Please note that visitors to MOCA may be photographed, videotaped, or otherwise recorded. By visiting, visitors grant the museum permission to use photographs and/or audiovisual recordings in which visitors appear for archival, documentary, publicity, advertising, or other purposes.

 

GALLERIES

Please do not touch the artwork on display and stand at least 2 ft. from all artwork while visiting.

 

MOBILE DEVICES

As a courtesy to others, visitors are asked to silence their mobile devices.

 

NO SMOKING, FOOD, OR DRINKS

Food and drinks are permitted only in the lobby, theater, and café spaces. They may not be carried into the galleries or other areas. Outside food is not allowed. Smoking, vaping, or use of other tobacco products are not permitted inside the museum.

 

SKETCHING

Sketching is permitted in the galleries (pencil only, no ink or paint) with sketchbooks no larger than 9 x 12 inches. Easels are not permitted. Please see a security officer to request a stool while sketching in the galleries.

 

STROLLERS

Baby strollers are permitted at all times, but food or drink accompanying stroller must be checked.

 

LOST ITEMS

PETS

Pets are not allowed in the Museum. Service animals are permitted, please see the Accessibility page for additional details.

 

DIRECTIONS & PARKING

 MOCA Jacksonville is located at 333 North Laura Street in Jacksonville, Florida.

 

DIRECTIONS

From I-95 North of Downtown, exit on Union Street, then head east to Main Street. Turn right on Main Street, travel four blocks then turn right on Duval Street. Travel one block to North Laura Street, turn left, and the museum is immediately on the left.

 

PARKING

  • From the above directions, there is a public parking garage on your right immediately after you turn onto Duval Street between Main Street and Laura Street.
  • Metered street parking is available throughout downtown (free weekdays after 6 p.m. and all day on weekends).
  • School buses and motor coaches may park at TIAA Bank Field after dropping off passengers.
  • MOCA Members receive free two-hour parking in the Duval Street Garage. Ask the front desk about validating your parking pass when checking in.
